What I have learned about Parkinson’s Disease and myself

My name is Doug. I have had Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years, introducing itself as a tremor at age 40. Since then I have had most every experience one can have with this disease including many losses: My work, driver’s license, activities and slowly my cognitive function. My battle now includes severe depression. Still if you asked anyone around me, including myself, I am doing better than most expectations. In these blogs I share my experiences, thoughts and ideas hoping others may find something useful even if it is just the comfort of knowing you aren’t alone. I am not a doctor, nurse or trained individual. I’m just a patient with 20+ years of experiences. Before you decide to take any advice from me, consult with your doctor or therapist.
